Absolute and Percent modes differ in that the absolute level is
fixed once the Find Level button is selected, whereas the 50%
level is computed on each waveform acquisition.

Signal Characteristics

The "Signal Characteristics" section is used to
set the acquisition parameters. The current
settings displayed are taken from the
acquisition settings in the Horizontal dialog
when Use Acq. Settings is checked.
Unchecking this checkbox allows the bit rate,
pattern length, and sample density to be
changed. This control is checked by default,
and should remain checked whenever active
channels are being measured. The controls
must be set when a stored waveform whose
acquisition settings are different from the
current horizontal settings is being measured.
The "Signal Type" is set in the Horizontal dialog
and its current setting is displayed in the Jitter
dialog. The signal type determines the bit rate
and the set of compliance masks that are used
for mask testing. Although the bit rate is set
automatically when the signal type is selected,
it can be changed using the Bit Rate control or
by pressing the Find Rate button in the
Horizontal dialog.

Jitter Setup Dialog

The Jitter dialog contains all the controls for displaying results, as well as different views of the jitter.
Jitter displays include the bathtub curve, eye pattern, data dependent jitter vs. bit (synchronous
n-cycle plot), data dependent jitter histogram, random and uncorrelated jitter histogram, Q-scale fit,
and edge fit. A set of checkboxes at the bottom left corner of the Jitter dialog turns these individual
measurements on and off.
