Consult ANSI B56.1 Safety Standard for Low Lift and Hi Lift Trucks for the owner’s / user’s responsibilities
regarding the operation, care, and maintenance of this machine.

o

Ensure that all employees involved in the operation of this stacker understand and follow these instructions!

The standard model CBS counterbalanced stacker is suitable for use indoors in most non-classified industrial and

many commercial locations. It is intended to be used to lift and transport stable, evenly-distributed, non-hazardous
palleted loads and containers with rigid sides having a size or footprint approximately the same as the forks.

Loading:

The load rating, in pounds, is shown on the machine dataplate located on the top surface of the counterweight

section. It indicates the net capacity of the stacker when handling a static load that has a horizontal center of gravity
no more than 12” out from the fork carriage. The load is to be centered and evenly distributed on the forks.

Do not exceed a rate of three feet per second when moving the stacker.

Note: The addition of any ancillary equipment to the stacker by third parties must be taken into account when

determining the maximum working load to be placed on the forks.
Warning: Do not exceed the stacker’s load ratings. Injury to personnel or permanent damage to the stacker could

result from exceeding the listed capacity.

Operation:

Inspect the perimeter pinch point guards’ operation daily.

Warning: Keep all personnel clear of the machine when it is in operation. Be certain no part of any person or object is

under any part of the forks before lowering the unit.
Caution: Always carefully watch the stacker’s forks and any load on them when the stacker is being operated.

The stacker is furnished with a constant-pressure (dead-man style) pushbutton control.
Pressing the “UP” pushbutton on the pendant control or on the power unit’s cover will turn on the power unit to

raise the forks. The forks will raise only while the control is pressed. Upon releasing the control, the forks will stop
and hold position.

Pressing the “DOWN” pushbutton on the pendant control or on the power unit’s cover will energize the lowering

valve to allow the forks to descend by gravity (the motor does not run). Again, releasing the control will stop the

forks’ movement, and the forks will hold position.
Caution: Never use the stacker if any damage or unusual noise is observed, if it is in need of repairs, or if it seems to

be malfunctioning. Notify your supervisor or maintenance personnel if you notice anything out of the ordinary.

Ensure that all information/safety/warning labels stay in place and are legible. Refer to the labels page in this

manual.
