the groove of the motor shaft. Align the motor pulley with the
key, and slide the pulley onto the shaft. The set screw will be
tightened in a later step.

ATTACHMENT OF BEARING MOUNTS

Refer to Figure 4. Attach the Front and Rear Bearing
assemblies to the vertical members with 3/8” carriage bolts
as shown.

INSTALLING PROP SHAFT

1. Refer to Figure 4. Insert the prop shaft through the front and

rear bearings. Use a rubber hammer or similar tool to tap
it in.

2. Align the shaft as shown in inset of Figure 4. The front end

of the prop shaft should be 1.80” from the edge of the
bearing collar.

3. Tighten the 5/16” bolts holding the bearing collars.

4. With the shaft aligned, tighten set screws on front and rear

bearings. Recommended torque of the bearing set screws
is 29 In. Lbs. Min. and 32 In. Lbs. Max.

INSTALLING THE PROP PULLEY

1.

Refer to Figure 4.

Insert the metal key provided into the

rear groove of the shaft. (Note that the prop shaft is
grooved for a key on each end).

2.

Slide the prop pulley onto the shaft as shown in Figure 4.
Note: The prop pulley set screw goes to the outside of
the fan unit.

ALIGNMENT OF THE PULLEYS

1.

Use a straightedge to align the prop pulley and the motor
pulley. Slide each pulley as required to achieve alignment.

2.

With pulleys aligned, tighten set screw on each pulley. The
recommended torque of the prop pulley is 110 In. Lbs. Min.
The recommended torque of the motor pulley is 110 In. Lbs.
Min.

INSTALLING THE FAN BELT

Install the fan belt according to instructions provided with
belt.

LIGHT TRAP INSTALLATION

1. Refer to Figure 5. Lay fan unit with the front side down,

motor-and-pulley side up.
