ORION® CE In-Home Display (IHD)

Programming the IHD for an ORION CE Endpoint

IMPORTANT

Before programming the IHD, the following steps must be completed:

Install the programming software. Refer to "Installing the ORION CE IHD Programming Software on the

Trimble Ranger" on page 8 if you need help.

Set the COM port(s). Refer to "Set Up and Modification of COM Ports" on page 16 if you need help.

1. Connect the IHD unit to the Trimble Ranger USB port using the IHD custom programming cable.

2. Tap the Menu soft key. Then tap Programming.

Result: The IHD Programmer screen opens.

3. Tap the Test button.

Result: A test confirmation window opens displaying

the message "Good Connection" along with the IHD

firmware version confirming that the IHD software is

communicating with the Trimble Ranger. See

Figure 24.

If you receive an error instead of the Good

Connection message, check the COM port(s)

and modify as needed. Refer to "Set Up and

Modification of COM Ports" on page 18 if you

need help.

NOTE: The firmware (FW) version shown in the

window refers to the software firmware version. To

view the firmware version for the IHD unit, press and

hold the Scroll button on the IHD until the display

changes to show the IHD FW version.

4. Tap ok to close the Test confirmation window.
