SOM Operators
Role Characteristics
Maintainers can log in to the SOM system, use various processes to provide maintenances and
services. Maintainers can edit (customize, configure, and nullify) a process, create a process
instance, and execute and manage the process instance.
The following contents describe the concepts of process template, process, and process instance:
•
Process templates are shared resources. A process template defines all process steps and input
contents. It has no privilege information.
•
You can create multiple processes based on a process template. Each process defines the
privilege information of each step and the management privilege information. For example,
you can create request process a for department A and request process b for department B
based on the same request process template. Processes a and b usually have different
processors at the verification step.
•
A process instance is a specific process to be processed. For example, based on the request
process a of department A, staff M in department A can create a request process instance m
and staff N can create a request process instance n. The request process instances m and n
are operated in the process instance base and delivered to the processor at the next step.
Operation examples
Procedure 1 Creating a process instance and editing a process
1. Log in to the SOM, and click the expansion button of the Process Management area in the
navigation tree to list the processes in the system.
2. Double-click a process or right-click a process to create a process instance.
The right-click menu of a process allows you to create a process instance, configure the process
(the basic information, e-mail settings, countersign settings, and the child process), and nullify
the process.
