Getting started
When accessing the Firmware Update Tool for the first time, do the following:
1.
Read the introductory information in the Getting Started tab.
2. Go to the Settings menu to enter parameters. For more information, see “Configuring the tool”
(page 15) .
3. Go to the Arrays tab to perform a search to discover MSA arrays in the network, based on
the newly entered parameters. You can also initiate the installation of firmware on the
discovered devices. For more information, see
“Discovering arrays and updating firmware”
(page 16) .
Tabs and menus in the Firmware Update Tool
The following tabs include all Firmware Update Tool tasks:
•
Getting Started—Introductory information ( “Getting started” (page 14) )
•
Arrays—Lists discovered arrays, with the ability to initiate firmware updates ( “Discovering
arrays and updating firmware” (page 16) )
•
Firmware—Lists available firmware on hp.com, including firmware details and release notes,
and includes the option to download firmware to the local host (
“Viewing the firmware catalog
or downloading firmware for later installation” (page 17) )
•
Advisories—Lists active customer advisories ( “Viewing advisories” (page 19) )
Directly under the HP P2000 MSA Firmware Update Tool banner, the following menus are provided:

Settings—Parameter fields ( “Configuring the tool” (page 15) )
•
Legend—Icon descriptions ( “Viewing icon definitions” (page 19) )
•
About—Version information ( “Viewing Firmware Update Tool version information” (page 20) )
