A cache module is attached to each RAID controller and each cache module is connected to a
battery. The unit is called a backup battery with cache (BBWC). BBWC 1 connects to Card 1 and
BBWC 2 connects to Card 2.

Removing the RAID controller

1.

Power off the storage system:
a.

Use the CMC to power off the system controller as described in

“Powering off the storage

system” (page 24)

.

b.

Manually power off the disk enclosure.

2.

Unplug all cables from the power outlets.

3.

Remove the storage system from the rack and place it on a flat surface.
