Click Monitoring+Array View in the left pane.

The Array View screen appears.

2.

Click the Configuration Collection tab. The Configuration Collection table displays the list of
command device records for all the XP and the P9000 disk arrays that are monitored by HP
XP P9000 Performance Advisor.

3.

Select the command device record corresponding to the XP or the P9000 disk array for which
you want to collect the configuration data.

Alternatively, click an XP or a P9000 disk array icon displayed above the Configuration
Collection tab to view the corresponding set of records highlighted in the Configuration
Collection table. The existing set of records are automatically sorted to display the command
devices that belong to the selected XP or P9000 disk array at the beginning of the Configuration
Collection table.

4.

Select Collection Period as Recurring.

“Configuration Data Collection” (page 53)

Select one of the following as the Collection Schedule. By default, the collection is scheduled
for every Sunday at 00:00 hours:

Hourly

Daily

Weekly

Monthly

For more information on the above-mentioned collection schedules, see

“Configuration collection

schedules” (page 55)

.

6.

By default, the Collection Type is Outband, as HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor directly
collects data from the XP or the P9000 disk array through the array SVP (not applicable for
XP1024/128 Disk Arrays). Proceed to next step.

IMPORTANT:

If SVPs on the XP disk arrays are accessible, HP recommends that you use the

outband mode of configuration data collection for a non P9500 disk array. HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor receives accurate internal raw disk capacities from the non P9500 disk
array (same as displayed by Remote Web Console) when you collect configuration data
through the outband mode. For a P9500 disk array, both the inband and the outband mode
of configuration data collection provides the accurate usable capacity (same as displayed by
Remote Web Console). Collect configuration data through the inband mode for XP disk arrays
only if the outband mode is not supported, such as for XP1024/128 Disk Arrays.
