Note: If FDIST is not copied, the current version of FDIST in the $system.SYSnn subvolume will be used, which may
not provide all the features.
Read the following instructions first for OBEY INSTWVP using TACL
1. Set your working volume to $system.zwvp (or to $volume.subvolume where you have transferred the files)
2. Issue ‘OBEY INSTWVP’

Note: Web ViewPoint Version 5 generates a limited set of EMS events under SubSystem ID ZWVP (SSID
Number ‘257’ or SSID Name ‘WVP’).

Requiring your input, this performs the following:

A. SETS the file codes
B. Sets the security of all the files to 'NUNU'
C. Licenses the necessary files

Note: Here INSTWVP tries to license FINFLIB and FINFO files. These are used to get information on files
opened by a process (when you click on the Files Opened menu item in the popup menu that appears when
you click on a process). For this function to work properly, the FINFLIB and FINFO files need to belong to
SUPER.SUPER and should be licensed. Thus you need to either be logged on as SUPER.SUPER when
installing Web ViewPoint, or otherwise use a SUPER.SUPER logon afterwards to license these two files

D. Opens the STRTWVP file in block mode Edit, so that you can set the following basic options:

D.1. PARAM LISTENER-PROCESS <$abcd>

This is a required parameter
It provides the process manager with the process name with which to start the TCP Listener.
Example: PARAM LISTENER-PROCESS $ZLWV

D.2. PARAM TCP-PROCESS <$abcd>

This is an optional parameter
This is passed to the TCP listener by the process manager and indicates what TCP process to use.
If this is omitted, the default TCP Process as defined by the standard TCP define is used.
Example: PARAM TCP-PROCESS $ZTCP2

D.3. PARAM ANALYZER-PROCESS <$abcd>

This is a required parameter
It provides the CPU metrics collector with the process name with which to start the CPU metrics
analyzer.
Example: PARAM ANALYZER-PROCESS $ZCPA

D.4. ASSIGN DATAFILE <filename>

This is a required parameter. It provides the Measure with the filename to be associated with
the active measurement

D.5. CPU, Priority, and Home assignment of processes as necessary
Note: The STOPWVP file will open as well and the matching process names must be carried over.

E. Opens the WVPCONF file in block mode edit. To change the TCP/IP port number at which you want to

access Web ViewPoint Performance, Events and Operation features; change the ‘Port’ value in the
WVPCONF file. To change the port number at which you want to access BAM; change the ‘Port’ value in
the [BASEOBJECT] section in the WVPCONF file. You must also assign a valid ‘Port’ value for the [PLUG-
INOBJECT] section in the WVPCONF file. This other ‘Port’ value is needed for internal purposes

F. Obeys MAKEALT. This creates the subscription database files needed to store EMS message subscription

information

G. Obeys MAKEBAM. This creates the BAM database files needed to store BAM information
H. Obeys MAKEEVMG. This creates the database files for user defined event and suppressions information.

J. Obeys MAKEIPLS. This creates the Neighborhood database file that stores information regarding the

Neighborhoods and the neighbors within each of them
