As shown in the figure, select this method when Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning is
used to create a datastore with storage system volumes allocated to it and VMware vSphere Client
is used to create virtual machines or add virtual disks. Because any name can be specified for the
datastore name, you can easily identify a datastore created from P9000 Command View AE Suite
storage resources.

Raw device
Allocate a volume in a storage system to a virtualization server as a raw device, which is used to
directly access a virtual machine.

As shown in the figure, map a raw device when Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning is
used to allocate a volume in a storage system to a virtual machine and VMware vSphere Client
is used to create a virtual machine or add a device.

Use VMware vSphere Client to create or move a virtual machine or to expand a datastore.
