Setting File Placement Options

DSM/SCM displays the File Placement Options window:

2. Select which files to place and where to retrieve the files from:

3. Click OK.

DSM/SCM returns you to the Build/Apply Request window.

Performing Extra Verification

By default, DSM/SCM adopts files with the same EOF and modification time. To
fingerprint nondata target files and determine whether they need to be replaced, check
the Perform extra verification in the File Placement Options dialog box. If there is a
fingerprint mismatch and the required file is not accessible, the Apply completes with
errors. The Build/Apply takes longer if this option is selected.

Specifying Which Files to Place

By default, DSM/SCM places only changed Guardian files using target files when
possible. Otherwise, host files are used.

Place only changed files using target files

If you select or default to this option , DSM/SCM checks if an identical file
managed by DSM/SCM exists on the target system. If it exists, this target file is
copied. If not, the file is taken from the activation package or exported directly from
the archive.

Note. OSS files are always placed using host files, regardless of which option you select.
