What Is in This Section

This section tells you how to issue DSNM commands from NetCommand.
NetCommand is the command-line interface to DSNM and is used in a DSMS
environment, with or without the Integrated Operations Console (IOC). This section
explains:

How to log on, start NetCommand, and log off

How to get help in NetCommand

How to get information about the NetCommand environment

How to change the NetCommand prompt

How to issue commands from NetCommand

Details on the syntax of DSNM commands are given in Section 2, “DSNM
Commands.”

Using NetCommand

Within DSMS, NetCommand is the command-line interface to DSNM. NetCommand
enables you to issue any DSNM command that you are authorized to use. See Section
2, “DSNM Commands,” for a list of DSNM commands and information on DSNM
command syntax.

In addition to DSNM commands, you can issue commands from NetCommand that
enable you to:

Run utilities and applications

Use standard TACL commands

Additional information on the commands you can issue from NetCommand is
provided later in this section.
