• iSCSI Name: Specify the iSCSI name of the host bus adapter by selecting an HBA from the list or
entering it directly. The list displays all the iSCSI names of host bus adapters connected to the selected
port by the cable. For details on the characters and length you can specify as an iSCSI name, see
” iSCSI port settings and iSNS server settings ” on page 21.
• Protocol: Specify the protocol used in the user authentication. The required value is CHAP.
• User: Specify the user name of the host (up to 64 characters). If you select the Enable authentication
check box on the bottom-left, the user name is mandatory.
You can use alphanumeric characters, spaces, and the following symbols in a user name:
. - + @ _ = : / [ ] , ~
User names are case sensitive. For example, the user names host1 and Host1 represent different users.
• Secret: Specify the secret (a password used in CHAP authentication). The secret can be between 12
and 32 characters. If you select the Enable authentication check box, the secret is mandatory.
You can use same characters and symbols as in a user name.
• Re-enter Secret: Specify the secret, again, for confirmation.
• Enable authentication: Select this check box when you want to perform user authentication of the
registered host. By default, this check box is selected.
If you clear this check box, the host connects to the disk array without authentication. When the Enable
authentication check box is deselected, you do not need to specify the User, Secret, and Re-enter
Secret boxes.
NOTE: If a host uses Microsoft iSCSI Initiator and is configured for port authentication using
CHAP, the host cannot connect to the disk array even if you clear the Enable authentication check
box.
4. Click OK. The specified user information is added in blue in the User Information (Host) table.
5. Click Apply. A confirmation message appears.
6. Click OK. The setting is applied to the disk array.
NOTE: If you want to allow a specific host to connect to a port without user authentication, see the
information in ” Host authentication ” on page 24.
Changing user information of hosts
You can change the registered user name or secret of a host, and toggle switch authentication settings
between enable and disable after registration.
NOTE: You cannot change iSCSI names when you change user information.
1. In the Port tree, expand the iSCSI folder and select a port on which the user information you want to
change is registered. All the user information of the hosts registered on the selected port appears in the
User Information (Host) table.
