The Policy Advisor Script

3PAR Policy Advisor User’s Guide

-ha <current|port|cage|mag>

Specifies the availability of the virtual volume. Volumes can be made available to

ports, cages or magazines. The default is to keep

current

setting of the virtual

volume.

-devtype <current|FC|NL|SSD>

The device type is FC, NL or SSD. The

devtype

must be explicitly specified as

FC

,

NL

or

SSD

. If the

devtype

is

current

, the virtual volume is skipped and is not

analyzed.

-tunepct <1-100>

Specifies the minimum percentage of disks used by a virtual volume to be analyzed

by the script. No tuning suggestions are made for virtual volumes using more than

the specified percentage of disks. The percentage must be between 1% and 100%.

The default is 90%.

-list

Display Tune Criteria, Tune Reasons, and Skip Reasons as a list rather than a table.

<VV_name>|<pattern>

The

<VV_name>

is the name of the virtual volume or volumes specified for analysis

by the Policy Advisor.

Linux and Solaris wildcards.

A pattern consisting of the virtual volume name and embedded wildcards can also

be used. The wildcard character

*

must be used with the

\

character. For example:

./PolicyAdvisor.tcl vvol\*

analyzes virtual volume names

vvolA

,

vvolB

,

vvol_copy1

, etc.

Windows wildcards.

A pattern consisting of the virtual volume name and embedded wildcards can also

be used. The wildcard character

can be used with the virtual volume name. For

example:

policyadvisor vvol*

analyzes virtual volume names

etc.
