1. When the Continuous Access Journal Z pair is in Duplex status, use Business Continuity
Manager to execute the YKSUSPEND Flash FORWARD command on the Continuous Access
Journal Z pair.
2. Use Business Continuity Manager to execute the YKSUSPND REVERSE command on the
Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair.
Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair is split and the copy operation temporarily stops.
3. Use the Continuous Access Synchronous Z remote volume to resume your business tasks.
4. Use Business Continuity Manager to execute the YKRESYNC REVERSE command on the
Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair.
The copy direction of the Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair is reversed.
5. In the either case, when the primary/secondary relationship of the Continuous Access
Synchronous Z pair is not reversed, (i.e., the copy direction is not reversed), or when the
primary/secondary relationship of the Cnt Ac-S Z pair is reversed (i.e., the copy direction is
reversed), use Business Continuity Manager's YKRESYNC DELTAJNL command to perform
delta resync operation on the volume in the Continuous Access Synchronous Z secondary site.
The status of the data volumes of Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair changes are explained
in the following table.

To transfer business tasks back to the primary site, remove failures in the primary site and other
locations, and then follow the instructions in
“Transferring business tasks from Continuous Access
Synchronous Z secondary site to primary site (when delta resync operation is performed in 3DC

To transfer your business tasks back to the primary site, follow the procedure below. Business
Continuity Manager is used in this procedure:
1.
When the Continuous Access Journal Z pair is in Duplex status, use Business Continuity
Manager to execute the YKSUSPEND Flash FORWARD command on the Continuous Access
Journal Z pair.
2. Use Business Continuity Manager to execute the YKRESYNC REVERSE command on the current
Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair.
The copy direction of the Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair is reversed.
3. Stop business tasks at the Continuous Access Synchronous Z secondary site.
4. Use Business Continuity Manager to execute the YKSUSPND FORWARD command on the
Continuous Access Synchronous Z pair.
Cnt Ac-S Z pair is split and the copy operation stops temporarily
