Peer-to-Peer Connection

In a peer-to-peer direct network configuration, the printer is directly connected to
the network via an HP JetDirect External Print Server, and each computer on the
network sends print jobs directly to the HP JetDirect External Print Server.

Connection

The following print servers and client operating systems are supported:

Set up the printer.
Follow the instructions in Steps 1 through 5, starting on page 2. In Step 2, on
page 3, connect the printer to the HP JetDirect External Print Server with a
parallel cable.

Set up the HP JetDirect External Print Server.
Install and configure the HP JetDirect External Print Server according to the
instructions provided with the print server.

Install the HP DeskJet 970C Series printer software on each of the clients. See
page 16 for instructions for your operating system.
