Overview

HP MSA Storage models are high-performance storage solutions combining outstanding performance with

high reliability, availability, flexibility, and manageability. MSA 1040 enclosure models are designed to

meet NEBS Level 3, MIL-STD-810G (storage requirements), and European Telco specifications.

MSA 1040 Storage models

The MSA 1040 controller enclosures support either large form factor (LFF 12-disk) or small form factor

(SFF 24-disk) 2U chassis, using either AC or DC power supplies. HP MSA 1040 Storage models are

pre-configured at the factory to support one of these host interface protocols:

8 Gb FC

4 Gb FC

10 GbE iSCSI

1 GbE iSCSI

The small form-factor pluggable (SFP transceiver or SFP) supporting the pre-configured host interface

protocol is pre-installed in the controller module. MSA 1040 controller enclosures do not allow you to

change host interface protocols or increase speeds. Always use qualified SFP connectors and cables

required for supporting the host interface protocol as described in QuickSpecs.
