In the event that a four conductor cable is not
available, a pair of cables with at least two
conductors each may be used as shown in the
following diagram, with the DIN connector shown
from the rear (solder) side:
In this situation extra care must be taken to provide
a flexible section to avoid interference with the
turntable’s suspension. If the cabling has three
conductors (in addition to the shield), the third
conductor should be connected to pin 1 of the XLR
connectors and left unconnected at the tonearm end.
