The example in FIG. 33 indicates that Key 1 on the UDM-RC02 remote control will put device
“A1” into Passthrough mode. Alternatively, selecting Input A on the UDM-RC02 will also enable
passthrough control of the source.
5. The device can now be controlled directly at the UDM-RX02 end.
Using Passthrough Mode
Once a device has been configured for Passthrough Mode the relevant remote control is used to control
the device.
1. Press the previously configured key on the relevant remote control (UDM-RC02 or satellite remote
control) to enter Passthrough mode.
If accessing a Sky Box through Passthrough Mode, click on the “Sky” button on the Sky
remote control. Now use the Sky Remote control as normal. Press “TV” on the Sky remote to
exit Passthrough Mode.
If accessing a DVD player through Passthrough, click on the relevant button on the
UDM-RC02 remote control to play, pause, stop, eject, etc.
Dual Output Mode
Dual Output mode permits a single input to be viewed as two separate output types. For example a port
could be configured for the dual output of VGA and Component video. This means at the UDM-RX02
end the input could be delivered to two separate display devices over the relevant connections at the
UDM-RX02. However, the output via the component connectors can only be RGBs; separate syncs are
not available on this connection.
To place a port into Dual Output mode:
1. Click on the Port hyperlink on the Status page to invoke the Port Configuration page
2. Click on the Dual Output checkbox to permit the port to display the single input as 2 separate types
at the UDM-RX02 (FIG. 34).
To exit Passthrough mode, press the “UDM” key on the remote control.
To exit Passthrough mode click on any key on the remote control (which accessed
Passthrough mode) which is not configured as a control enabled key.
If accessing a Sky box press “TV” on the Sky remote to exit Passthrough mode.

Ensure the correct cabling is in place at the UDM-RX02 to accommodate the 2
separate signals.
