Initial System Setup and Testing

Initial System Field Test

Note:

This procedure applies only to applications of 3 GPM [11 lit/min] or greater. For flow less than 3
GPM [11 lit/min], refer to the Alternate Bypass Plumbing Initial System Field Test section for the
alternate bypass line testing procedure.

1.

Drive down the field at the target speed with the sprayer booms off to verify the SPEED readout in the
console.

2.

Turn on the sprayer and booms.

3.

Switch the RATE switch to RATE 1.

4.

Increase or decrease the vehicle’s speed by one MPH [2 km/h].

Note:

The system should automatically adjust to the target application rate. If the system does not
perform the adjustment, perform the steps in “Initial System Setup” on page 39. If the system is
still not performing correctly, refer to Chapter 6 Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting for
possible causes and corrective action.

5.

At the end of each row, switch the Master ON/OFF switch to OFF to shut off the flow. This also turns off the
area totalizer.

6.

Verify the area covered and the volume used.

Alternate Bypass Plumbing Initial System Field Test

Note:

This procedure applies only to applications of less than 3 GPM [11 lit/min]. For flow of 3 GPM [11
lit/min] or greater, refer to the Initial System Setup section for the main hose line testing procedure.

1.

Drive down the field at the target speed with the sprayer booms off to verify the SPEED readout in the
console.

2.

Turn on the sprayer and booms.

3.

Switch the MAN/AUTO switch to AUTO.

4.

Increase or decrease the vehicle’s speed by 1 MPH [2 km/h].

Note:

The system should automatically adjust to the target application rate. If the system does not
perform the adjustment, perform the steps in Alternate Bypass Plumbing Initial System Field Test
section on page 41. If the system is still not performing correctly, refer to Chapter 6 Preventative
Maintenance & Troubleshooting for possible causes and corrective action.

5.

At the end of each row, switch the Master ON/OFF switch to OFF to shut off the flow. This also turns off the
area totalizer.

6.
