5.1.5 Raw Processing

Several options are available on this
page as shown in the example right
and described below:

Navigation Processing: There
are 4 options for navigation
processing.

o

Process Navigation:

If the

navigation was not
processed from the file
tree, this option should be
selected and the settings
dialog opened as shown right.

For bathymetry processing it is
usually best to use a small "window
width" (12 is good), choose "ship"
for both Heading and Navigation
source, and only use the Speed
Filter if the GPS signal was poor
or noisy.

o

Use Processed Navigation:

If the

navigation was processed
previously, this option will use the
results from the processing.

o

Use Raw Navigation:

This option does not perform any processing on the

navigation and reads the raw data directly from the XTF file. This option is good
for externally processed navigation data.

o

The Precise Timing Architecture:

This can be used if the data you are

processing was acquired with a Reson Sonar using an Applanix® POS/MV motion
sensor and will take advantage of the precise timing link that exists between the
Reson Sonar and the POSMV.
