Automatic Input Selection

When 501BN HDMI Switch is powered on for the first time, it senses input ports automatically and switches

to the input port source automatically in the sequence 1 -> 2 -> 3... It bypasses input ports without signal.

When a new device is turned on, the switch automatically selects that input. For example, if you switch on

your cable TV, the HDMI switch will automatically switch to the cable TV. Turn the currently selected device
off and switch automatically selects the next higher numbered input that has an active signal (1 -> 2 -> 3...)

Note: Some source devices stay in a stand-by mode even when you think they are switched off and always

maintain a connection with the switch. This non-compliant behavior does not allow the HDMI switch to
perform its auto switching. You can test this by looking at the HDMI switch LEDs after switching off your
inputs.

Apple TV is one such non-compliant device. Please verify all your input devices by looking at their LEDs

when they are powered off.

Powering off / powering on the apple TV will not make any difference. However, powering off/on other

devices may allow auto switching. You will be able to switch out of Apple TV to a newly powered cable box
or a Blu-ray player. You can switch back to apple TV by powering off the cable box or the Blu-ray player if the
apple TV falls next in the sequence 1 -> 2 -> 3...

You can approach [email protected] if you need help in deciding the best assignment of ports. As a

first step, you will need to test your input devices (such as the cable box, Blu-ray player etc.) for the above
mentioned non-compliant behavior of keeping their HDMI port active in powered-off state.
