Multi-tap text entry

Multi-tap text entry is the conventional way to enter text
where you continue to press a key that contains the letter you
want until the letter (symbol) displays.

Activating multi-tap

While at any text entry screen, press and hold

appears in the upper right corner of the

display.

Multi-tap modes

Multi-tap mode is indicated by the following icons in the upper
right corner of the display.

ABC

- Uppercase only. Any letters that you enter will be in

uppercase, or all capital letters.

ABC

- Initial caps. Only the first word of each sentence is in

capital letters.

abc

- Lowercase. Any words that you enter will be in lower

case letters.

To cycle through multi-tap modes, briefly press

while using multi-tap.

Using multi-tap text entry

The conventional method for entering text is called multi-

tap, which requires up to four key presses for each letter,
depending on the letter that you wish to enter.

For example, to enter “z,” press

four times in

succession. To enter an “a” however, only one press of

is required.
