Headset Control for 4400 Sets

Headsets on the 4400-series of phones allow users to plug a headset in to
the Headset jack and have audio control transfer from the speakerphone or
handset to the headset.
The following needs to be programmed on 4400 set using a Headset.

1. Call Appearance buttons.
2. A Drop button.
3. A Headset Activate button.

Calls are delivered to call appearance buttons. If there are no available
Call Appearance buttons, the call is not delivered to the station and the
station does not alert. The caller receives one of the following:

1. The call receives Voice Mail.
2. The caller hears busy (if the call was a direct station call).
3. The call receives queuing treatment (if the call was a hunt group

call).

Answer the call by pressing the button associated with the alerting call.
When in headset mode, you can make calls by either selecting a Call
Appearance button, or dialing.
You can place the call on Hold, Transfer, or Conference. Pressing the
Drop button disconnects the call.
The headset on the 4400 series sets is connected to a separate jack. You
may be in headset mode and go off-hook on the handset. The handset will
then be “bridged” onto the call. You can hear through the handset, but not
be able to talk.

To enter or exit Headset Mode:
This feature can be set under a DSS key, see page 23.
1. Press the programmed feature button.
