Hot Swapping a Switch
To hot swap a module, perform the following procedure:
1.
Remove the data cables from the failed module.
2.
Loosen the thumbscrew and gently slide out the failed module.
3.
Remove the new module from the shipping package and store the
packaging material in a safe location.
Caution
Wear a grounding device and observe electrostatic discharge
precautions when installing the PowerBlade module in the chassis.
Failure to observe this caution could result in damage to the
PowerBlade module.
4.
Slide the module gently into place, aligning it with the guiderails,
until it firmly connects to the chassis’ backplane. Refer to Figure 36
on page 91.
5.
Secure the new module to the chassis by tightening the
thumbscrew.
6.

on page 91 to complete the installation.
