Removing and Replacing the Battery
To remove the battery:
m Shut down your PowerBook or put it to sleep. Turn it over, and locate the battery release
latches on either side of the battery. Slide both latches up. The battery should pop up
slightly.
To replace the battery:
m Place the front of the battery into the battery compartment. Gently press the back side of
the battery down until the battery latch locks into place.
Swapping Batteries While the Computer Is in Sleep
If your battery runs low while you are working, you can put your PowerBook to sleep and
replace the battery with a charged one. The internal backup battery provides enough power
to maintain the contents of RAM for three minutes while you change the battery.
