External Monitor in Dual Display or Video Mirroring Mode

With the display set to 1440 x 900 and millions of colors, an external VGA monitor or digital
display can be supported at the following resolutions up to millions of colors:

m 640 x 480, 640 x 870, 800 x 600, 832 x 624, 1024 x 768,

1152 x 870, 1280 x 960, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200,
1792 x 1344, 1856 x 1392, 1920 x 1440, and 2048 x 1536

Note: Some external DVI displays from other manufacturers may not support all
resolutions.

Choosing a resolution greater than 1280 x 854 in video mirroring mode causes the image on
the external monitor to scale down (not take up the entire screen) to match the 1440 x 900
resolution of the internal display.

External Monitor in Display Closed Mode

When the PowerBook display is closed, an external VGA monitor or Apple flat-panel display
can be supported at the following resolutions up to millions of colors:

m 640 x 480, 640 x 870, 800 x 600, 832 x 624, 1024 x 768,

1152 x 870, 1280 x 960, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200,
1792 x 1344, 1856 x 1392, 1920 x 1440, and 2048 x 1536

Note: Some external DVI displays from other manufacturers may not support all
resolutions.

External S-Video or Composite Television (NTSC)

An external NTSC video device or TV can be supported at the following resolutions up to
millions of colors:

m 640 x 480, 720 x 480 (NTSC only), 800 x 600, 832 x 624, and 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz

External S-Video or Composite Television (PAL)

An external PAL video device or TV can be supported at the following resolutions up to
millions of colors:

m 640 x 480, 720 x 576, 800 x 600, 832 x 624, and 1024 x 768 at 50 Hz
