Press the shutter-release button halfway.

Press the shutter-release button halfway to
focus. The active focus point will be displayed. If
the subject is poorly lit, the flash may pop up and
the AF-assist illuminator may light.

Check the indicators in the viewfinder.

When the focus operation is complete, a beep
will sound (a beep may not sound if the subject is
moving) and the in-focus indicator (

I) will

appear in the viewfinder.

While the shutter-release button is pressed
halfway, the number of exposures that can be
stored in the memory buffer (“

t”; 0 30) will be

displayed in the viewfinder.

Shoot.

Smoothly press the shutter-release button the
rest of the way down to release the shutter and
record the photograph. The memory card access
lamp will light and the photograph will be
displayed in the monitor for a few seconds (the
photo will automatically clear from the display
when the shutter-release button is pressed
halfway). Do not eject the memory card or remove
or disconnect the power source until the lamp has
gone out and recording is complete
.
