Assembling a SCSI Chain

The scanner is connected directly to the Macintosh.
Other external SCSI devices are set up beyond the scanner.

All Macintosh computers

Macintosh IIfx and PowerBook

Scanner Termination

A SCSI terminator is needed on last
device in chain.

Set scanner SCSI ID to number 2,
termination off.

You can change the scanner ID number
if you need to, but set termination off.

Macintosh PowerBook only

No external terminator needed for scanner.

Set scanner SCSI ID to number 2,
termination on.

You can change the scanner ID number
if you need to, but set termination on.
