Disconnecting the TV from the computer

Unplug the audio-video (AV) cable connector from the A/V OUT jack on the
computer. Disconnecting the cable when the computer is in a power saving mode
(Standby or Hibernate) may cause the computer to malfunction.

Watching DVDs on your computer

Your computer is equipped with a CD-RW/DVD drive, which enables you to
watch most DVDs on your computer.

To play a DVD while connected to the AC adapter

Close all open programs.

Insert the DVD into the CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive.

Select a preinstalled DVD program in which to play the DVD. The
preinstalled DVD program launches the video automatically. See “Program
overview”
for a description of your preinstalled DVD program. For detailed
instructions on how to use the preinstalled DVD program, see the help guide
included with the DVD program.

To play a DVD while using battery power

Set the power management profile to DVD.

Close all open programs.

Right-click the CPU icon

on the Windows® taskbar.

Select Profiles from the shortcut menu, and then select DVD from the
submenu. You can also select Automatic Profile Selection, which sets
the power management profile to DVD whenever a DVD is inserted into

Some discs recorded at 20 or 24 bits may produce noise while playing. If
you have audio devices connected, this may damage your hearing and the
speakers. Reduce the volume before playing a DVD.

Do not switch the power saving modes while you are playing the DVD.

Do not use memory-resident utility software to speed up disc access. This
may cause the computer to malfunction.
