Taking Pictures with Manual Focus
Use this function when you want to fix the focus or when the distance between the lens
and the subject is determined and you do not want to activate Auto Focus.

Set the focus mode lever to [MF].

Press [ ].

Press 3/4/2/1 to determine the area to be
enlarged, and press [MENU/SET].
• The assist screen is displayed, enlarging the area. (MF Assist) (P103)
• If you press [DISP.], the area to be enlarged will be reset to the center.

Adjust the focus.

• The in-focus portions will be highlighted. (Peaking) (P103)
• You can check whether the point of focus is to the near
side or to the far side. (MF Guide) (P103)
You can perform the following operations:

Press the shutter button halfway.
• The assist screen will close. The recording screen will be displayed.
• You can also close the assist screen by pressing [MENU/SET].
Applicable modes:
When using the interchangeable lens (H-HS12035) having a focus ring
Rotate to A side:
Focuses on nearby subject
Rotate to B side:
Focuses on faraway subject

Pinching in/out Enlarges/reduces the screen (by steps of 0.1 k )
s Enlarges/reduces the screen (by steps of 1.0 k )
Switches the enlarged display (windowed/full screen)
[DISP.] [Reset] Resets the area to be enlarged back to the center.
