Apply two drops of blue threadlocker to the two 5/16-18
X 1 1/2” SHCS bolts and then attach the starter spacer
to the motorplate by threading the two bolts from starter
side of motorplate spacer into motorplate and torque
25 ft.lbs. (See figure 5).

The motorplate is now ready to install (See figure 6).
NOTE: There is a threaded plug in the center of the
motorplate. If you intend to use Rivera Primo’s Mid-
Controls (part # 2084-0504) , this plug should be
removed. Otherwise the plug should be left in. Check to
make sure it is tight prior to attaching motorplate to
motorcycle.

Apply a thin layer of grease to the starter pinion gear
housing oring. (See figure 7)

Install the stock gasket/spacer ring that came with the
motorcycle over the sprocket shaft and against the
motorcase. (See figure 8 & 8a). Position the motorplate
over the motor sprocket shaft and the transmission
mainshaft. As you slide the motorplate toward the motor
and transmission, pull the starter motor towards the
motorplate seating the pinion gear housing o-ring inside
the motorplate starter hole. (See figure 9 & 9a).
Now slide the motorplate toward the transmission until it
is resting against the motorcase and transmission.

Usng the existing two 5/16-18 SHCS, thread then
torque per OE specs into the motorplate to secure the
starter. (See figure 9).
