The SV200 permits the use of the satellite dispatch feature both in
the vehicle using the 1000 series handset, and outside the vehicle
using a standard handheld and mobile radio. The SV200 provides
the following three modes of operation:

NET MODE - Satellite dispatch communication is made in the
normal manner using the 1000 series handset, which is plugged in to
the SV200. Receive audio is heard on the SV200’s remotely
mounted speaker and is adjusted via the volume knob on the SV200
front panel.

HANDHELD MODE - In this mode the SV200 acts as an interface
between a user supplied mobile radio and the satellite radio. This
sets up a communications path between the handheld and the
satellite radio. The 1000 handset is also operative in this mode, and both
the satellite net and the handheld can hear the 1000 handset user.

LOCAL MODE - In this mode the handheld and the mobile can talk
directly to each other without involving the satellite radio.
