Battery life is short

Make sure the correct battery type is installed (

You cannot take a
picture

Turn the camera off, then on again.

Depress the Shutter button all the way (

).

Insert new/charged batteries in the correct orientation (

Memory is full. Transfer pictures to the computer (

), or insert another card.

Memory card not
recognized or camera
freezes with card

Remove and reinsert the card (

IMPORTANT: Insert a card until it clicks.

Card may be corrupted. Format the card in the camera (

Use another memory card. Only SD or SDHC Cards are supported.

The camera gets wet
inside

Do not turn on the camera.

Wipe off water or debris within 1 hour of submersion in water. If
the camera was used in chemically treated water or saltwater,
rinse it in fresh water, then dry with a soft towel.

Remove the batteries and card.

Open all doors on camera.

Allow camera to dry for at least 24 hours.

No sound when
reviewing video

Sound captured in a video can only be heard when the video is played on a
computer or when the camera is connected to a TV (

see page 28

).
