Error Messages

Resetting the system

Use this procedure to reset all system settings
to the factory default.

Switch the system on.

Press

STANDBY/ON

while holding

down the front panel FM/AM button.

The next time you switch on, all the system
settings should be reset.

Using the language code list

Some of the language options (see

Language

settings

on page 22) allow you to set your

preferred language from any of the 136
languages listed in the

Language code list

on

page 41.

Select ‘Other Language’.

Use

/

(cursor left/right) to select

either a code letter or a code number.

(cursor up/down) to select a

code letter or a code number.

Problem

Remedy

Considerable noise in
radio broadcasts.

• Connect the AM antenna (refer to the Setup Guide) and adjust the direction
and position for best reception. You may also connect an additional internal
or external AM antenna (refer to

Connecting auxiliary components

on

page 26).
• Fully extend the FM wire antenna, position for best reception, and secure to
a wall. You may also connect an outdoor FM antenna (see

Connecting external

antennas

on page 27).

• Turn off other equipment that may be causing the noise or move it further
away.

Australian model only –

The tuning interval is incorrect for your country or

region. Try switching the tuning interval (frequency step) (see

Frequency step

setting

on page 37).

Auto tuning does not
pick up some stations.

• The radio signal is weak. Auto tuning will only detect radio stations with a
good signal. For more sensitive tuning, connect an outdoor antenna.

Description

REC MODE

• An operation is prohibited because the Recording Mode is on (page 27).

SND DEMO

• The sound demo is on. See

CANNOT

• An operation is prohibited because headphones are connected, or

TEST

TONE

is pressed during disc playback.

STEREO

• An operation is prohibited because the

DVD/CD

function isn’t selected.

TRAY LOCK

• The tray lock is on. Contact your Pioneer authorized dealer for instructions.

MUTING

• An operation is prohibited because the sound is muted (press

MUTE

).

EEP ERROR

• Contact your Pioneer authorized service center or your dealer for servicing.

EXIT

• Appears when a menu is automatically exited after a set period of inactivity.
