Important Safety Information

To promote safety, certain functions are
disabled unless the vehicle is stopped and/
or the handbrake is applied.

The data encoded in the built-in memory is
the intellectual property of the provider, and
the provider is responsible for such content.

Keep this manual handy as a reference for
operating procedures and safety
information.

Pay close attention to all warnings in this
manual and follow the instructions
carefully.

Do not install this navigation system where
it may (i) obstruct the driver’s vision, (ii)
impair the performance of any of the
vehicle’s operating systems or safety
features, including air bags or hazard lamp
buttons or (iii) impair the driver’s ability to
safely operate the vehicle.

Please remember to fasten your seat belt at
all times while operating your vehicle. If you
are ever in an accident, your injuries can be
considerably more severe if your seat belt
is not properly buckled.

Be sure to attach the detachable device to
the head unit during in-car use. Use of this
detachable device when not firmly attached
to the head unit, could result in damage to
it in the event of a sudden stop.

Never use headphones while driving.

Cautions for the detachable

device

!CAUTION

Do not leave the detachable device in

places where it may become subject to high
temperatures or humidity, such as:
– Places close to a heater, vent or air

conditioner.

– Places exposed to direct sunlight, such

as on top of the dashboard or the rear
shelf.

– Places that may be splashed by rain, for

example close to the door.

Be careful not to touch terminals on the

detachable device or on the head unit.
Doing so may cause connection failures. If
any terminals are dirty, wipe them with a
clean dry cloth.

When using this navigation system in your

vehicle, attach the detachable device to the
head unit.

When you leave your vehicle, be sure to

remove the detachable device from the
head unit and take it with you.

Be sure to turn the power off when charging

the battery of the detachable device.

Additional supplement

The message “Preparing to start up
system...please wait
” may be displayed
after the navigation system starts. If it does,
wait until the message “Ready to start up
system.
” appears. After the message is
displayed, the system will restart.

Cautions for the battery pack

!DANGER

Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly

replaced. Replace only with the same or
equivalent type.

Keep the battery pack out of the reach of

small children to prevent them from
accidentally swallowing it.

Do not use a damaged or leaking battery

pack.
In the event of battery leakage, wipe the
battery pack completely clean and replace
it with a new battery.

Do not subject the battery pack to shock or

impact.

Be sure to use only the supplied battery

pack with this product. Use of another
battery is dangerous and could result in
malfunction.

Do not handle the battery with metallic

tools.
Do not store the battery with metallic
materials.

Do not store the battery pack in high

temperatures or direct sunlight.

When disposing of used batteries, please

comply with governmental regulations or
environmental public institutions’ rules that
apply in your country/area.
