The system status indicators and disk status indicators turn

on abnormally

When the lit state of the system status indicators and disk status
indicators differs from the specifications described in this manual,
a probable cause is indicator malfunction, faulty cable connection,
or other internal trouble on the server. If Windows 2000 can be
used, see “Remedy When Windows 2000 is Usable” on page 200.

If Windows 2000 cannot be used, see “Remedy When Windows
2000 is Unusable” on page 201.

The power indicator on this server lights with the power cord con-
nected to the AC outlet or while the server is in the power save
mode in the case of Windows 2000.

The disk and STS indicators light and flash amber

A probable cause is that a hard disk drive connected to the RAID
controller is malfunctioning. If Windows 2000 can be used after
checking from the lit state of the disk status indicators which hard
disk drive is malfunctioning, see “Remedy When Windows 2000
is Usable” on page 200.

If Windows 2000 cannot be used, see “Remedy When Windows
2000 is Unusable” on page 201.

The fault indicator lights amber

A probable cause is that the cooling fan, power unit or hard disk
drive is malfunctioning. Check whether or not Windows 2000 is
usable. If Windows 2000 can be used, see “Remedy When Win-
dows 2000 is Usable” on page 200.
