Causes

Solutions

Coff ee is too weak.
(see note)

This might occur when the machine
is automatically adjusting the dose.

Brew a few cups of coff ee as described
in the “Saeco Adapting System” chapter.

Coff ee is brewed slowly.
(see note)

The coff ee grind is too fi ne.

Change coff ee blend or adjust the
grind as explained in chapter “Adjust-
ing the Ceramic Coff ee Grinder”.

The circuit is not primed.

Prime the circuit (see the "Using the
Machine for the First Time" chapter).

The brew group is dirty.

Clean the brew group (see the "Weekly
Cleaning of the Brew Group" chapter).

Coff ee leaks out of the dispens-
ing spout.

The dispensing spout is clogged.

Clean the dispensing spout and its
holes.

Froth milk is too cold.

The cups are cold.

Preheat the cups with hot water.

The milk is not frothed.

The milk does not come out.

The milk carafe is dirty or not
inserted correctly.

Clean the carafe and insert it correctly.

The milk carafe dispenser has not
been removed correctly.

Check that the milk dispenser has been
removed correctly.

The milk carafe is not fully
assembled.

Make sure that all components have
been correctly assembled.

Only steam comes out of the
carafe.

The milk carafe dispenser has not
been removed completely.

Remove the milk carafe dispenser
completely until you hear the CLICK!

Note:

* These problems can be considered normal if the coff ee blend has been
changed or if the machine has just been installed. In this case wait until the
machine performs a self-adjusting operation as described in the "Saeco
Adapting System" chapter.
