Enabling Fast Infrared (FIR)
If you wish to enable and use the fast infrared transceiver then follow the procedure outlined below.
Enable the FIR Device in the BIOS
1.
Restart the computer.
2.
Enter the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility by pressing F2 during the POST.
3.
Use the arrow keys to select the Advanced menu.
4.
Select I/O Device Configuration and press Enter to open the sub-menu.
5.
Select FIR Device and press the spacebar to set the option to Enabled.
6.
Press F10 > Yes to save the changed BIOS information, exit the BIOS and restart the computer.
For Windows XP:
1.
Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel (or just click Start > Control Panel).
2.
Double-click Wireless Link (Printers and Other Hardware Category) icon.
3.
Click Hardware (tab), and click the Properties button, then click Advanced (tab).
4.
Select “Infrared Transceiver A” and change the Value to “HP HSDL-2300/3600”.
5.
Click OK > OK.
