7. Now the microphone must be removed from the rubber grommet so

that the grommet can be placed onto the new microphone. Holding
the microphone wires, remove the grommet.

8. The new microphone looks exactly the same as the old microphone

so it has been tagged using a small adhesive label.

To further aid in identifying the old and new

microphones, untwist the wires of the old

microphone so that they cannot be confused.

9. Insert the new microphone into the rubber grommet previously removed.

10.

Re-insert the microphone assembly (new mic and grommet)

into the top-housing microphone holder. Make sure that the
wires exit the holder at the back (toward the back of the phone).

11.

Connect the new microphone to the top-housing circuit

board.

12.

Carefully bring the two housings together assuring that no wires are being pinched and

replace each of the five screws removed.

13.

Reconnect all previously disconnected wiring (LAN, PC and power as required).

14.

Test the telephone speakerphone operation to assure that the microphone was properly

reconnected to the circuit board.
