NOTE: The following instructions are for a right hand
flange installation. On a left hand flange installation substi-
tute the words left for right, clockwise for counterclockwise,
and right for left as they appear.
DOOR HARDWARE ADJUSTMENT
1. Close the enclosure door and slowly turn the handle
to the right (counterclockwise) until the first notch on
the cam plate is engaged. At this point positive gasket
seal should be obtained with proper roller adjustment.
When seal is obtained further adjustment to the
defeater actuator lever may be required if the discon-
nect means operating handle can be moved to the
“On” position.
2. Rotate the door handle further to the right. Relocate
the defeater actuator if necessary so that the discon-
necting means “On” position occurs well before the
fully latched (vertical) door handle position has been
attained.
3. To open the door, with the disconnecting means in the
“Off” position, turn the recessed door defeater screw,
hold, and simultaneously turn the handle to the left
and pull.
4. Close the door, turn the door handle to the fully
latched position and place the disconnecting means
in the "On" position. Turn the recessed door defeater
screw, hold, and at the same time turn the door han-
dle to the left and pull. The door should open only par-
tially until the door catch engages the operating
handle defeater bracket (if the door opens, the door
catch must be lowered). To open the door, maintain
the force on the handle and turn the recessed
defeater screw in the operating handle.
5. The door handle has provisions for locking in the fully
closed position. To lock, pull out the handle padlock-
ing bar, Figure 4, and insert a 3/16 in. (4.8) minimum
to 3/8 in. (9.5) maximum lock hasp.
