• Kit 1013-9531, with comp/temp mirror, requires purchasing a 9002-6008 kit (temperature sensor harness).
• Vehicles without an auto dimming mirror require purchasing a 9002-6105 kit (mirror harness).
Preparation (Steps 1 thru 4 in supplied complete kit instructions)
1-3 Turn lamps, accessories, and ignition OFF. Disconnect negative battery cable.
4 Wait one (1) minute to assure air bag system is disabled before proceeding.
Install Mirror (Steps 5 thru 49 in supplied complete kit instructions)
5-15 Remove mirror bridge wiring cover, mirror harness connector and screw from existing rear view mirror. Remove mirror, overhead console,
and driver’s side sun visor and disconnect sun visor wiring harness.
16-20 Remove A-pillar cover, driver’s side end of dash cover, front driver’s side sill plate, and driver’s side kick panel.
21 Disengage Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) device (rectangular white tab) from the vehicle’s mirror connector.
22-23 Locate supplied foam-wrapped Mirror Harness and insert Gray/Dark-Blue wire of supplied Mirror Harness into vehicle’s mirror harness
connector. Use cavity 1 for Kit 9531 with comp/temp or cavity 6 for Kit 9530.
24 Insert Gray/Orange wire from supplied Mirror Harness into the mirror harness connector. Use cavity 2 for Kit 9531 with comp/temp or cavity 7
for Kit 9530.
25 IMPORTANT: If a wire exists in cavity 3 of the vehicle mirror harness connector, remove and isolate with electrical tape. Otherwise the
vehicle will not be able to start.
26 If your vehicle is not equipped with an auto dimming mirror, and wires are not present in cavities 9, 13, or 8, a separate mirror harness, part
number 9002-6105, must be purchased from Brandmotion. Follow steps in full kit instructions to install harness.
27 Press down on TPA device to lock wires into mirror harness connector.
28-29 Tape supplied mirror wiring harness wires to existing mirror wiring harness and route under driver’s side headliner.
30-35 Slide supplied Mirror onto windshield mounting tab and tighten existing screw to 1.8 Nm (16 lb-in) while not exceeding 2.2 Nm (19.5 lb-in).
Plug in mirror harness, and route supplied Mirror Harness down the driver’s side A-pillar and through hole in the end of dashboard. Remove
driver’s side sill plate, driver’s side kick panel and M-BEC electrical cover under the dashboard.
36 Using a digital multimeter, check for reverse signal at Cavity 5 in C11/ X11 Light Gray Connector OR Cavity 8 of C10/ X10 Gray Connector in
the M-BEC. If reverse signal is present, proceed to Step 36.
37 If reverse signal is NOT present: Check that the bail that secures the M-BEC connectors is fully locked. Repeat Step 34.
If reverse signal is still not present, check fuse block for any blown fuses. Replace any blown fuses & repeat Step 34 otherwise proceed
to step 46.
38 Remove the bolt that runs through the parking brake lever using a 10mm socket, and remove the lever.
39 Remove the two knee bolster screws using a Phillips screwdriver and remove the knee bolster.
40-41 Remove C11/ X11 Light Gray or C10/ X10 Gray Connector from M-BEC and remove TPA from C11/ X11 or C10/X10 Connector.
If a dark blue wire does NOT exist in Connector C11/ X11 Cavity 5 or Connector C10/ X10 Cavity 8:
A. Re-insert TPA and plug C10/ X10 or C11/ X11 connector into M-BEC.
B. Snap supplied Jumper Harness into black connector on supplied Mirror Harness.
42 If a dark blue wire exists in Connector C11/ X11 Cavity 5 or Connector C10/ X10 Cavity 8:
A-C. Unlock black connector of supplied Mirror Harness by sliding gray TPA device over, remove the dark blue wire from Connector C11/ X11
or C10/ X10, and insert the terminal of dark blue into the open cavity of black connector.
D-E. Slide gray TPA inside the black connector to lock green and blue wires into place and snap supplied Jumper Harness into black
connector on supplied Mirror Harness.
43 Connect green wire of Jumper Harness to Cavity 5 of C11/ X11 Connector OR Cavity 8 of C10/ X11 Connector where the dark blue wire was
removed. Re-insert TPA and plug C11/ X11 or C10/ X10 Connector into M-BEC.
44 Remove brown C12/ X12 Connector from M-BEC connector located in the bolster stud by pulling it out with fingers.
45 Remove TPA from brown C12/ X12 Connector.
