Install Mirror - continued (Steps 5 thru 49 in supplied complete kit instructions)
46 If pink wire does NOT exist in brown Connector C12/ X12 Cavity 7, connect pink wire from supplied Mirror Harness to Cavity 7. Proceed to
Step 47.
If a pink wire exists in brown Connector C12/ X12 Cavity 7:
A. Remove pink wire from Connector C12/ X12.
B. Unlock the larger connector of supplied Denali Jumper Harness to slide gray TPA device over to accommodate the pink wire.
C. Insert pink wire from supplied Mirror Harness into the larger connector of Denali Jumper Harness.
D. Insert pink wire from Connector C12/ X12 into the open cavity in Denali Jumper Harness.
E. Slide gray TPA over to lock pink wires into place.
F. Snap supplied Denali Jumper Harness into other half of Denali Jumper on supplied Mirror Harness. Then, connect pink wire of Denali
Jumper Harness to cavity 7 of C12/ X12 connector (where pink wire was removed).
47 Re-insert TPA and plug brown C12/ X12 Connector into M-BEC. Proceed to Step 47.
48 If all M-BEC connections are secure and no fuses are blown and reverse still is not present, reverse must be located in the under
dash BCM left of the steering wheel:
A. Cut the connector off the green Reverse (+) wire of supplied Mirror Harness and splice to wire in brown BCM X5 Connector Cavity 7.
B. Cut the terminal off the pink ignition (+) wire of supplied Mirror Harness and splice to wire in brown BCM X5 Connector Cavity 13.
49 Attach the Ground Ring terminal on black wire of supplied mirror harness to lower knee bolster stud using supplied Ground Nut and a 10mm
socket. Tighten to 4 N·m (36 lb in).
Install Camera (Steps 50 thru 71 in supplied complete kit instructions)
50-51 Open liftgate. Remove liftgate pull strap and grab cup on the bottom of the liftgate using a T30 Torx bit.
52-53 Remove upper liftgate trim and liftgate button connector from upper liftgate trim panel.
54-55 Remove pushpins from rear window latch trim using a pick and remove lower liftgate trim.
56 Remove two nuts fastening rear wiper motor to the liftgate and wiper motor wiring harness.
57 Close liftgate and remove wiper nut using a 10mm socket.
58 Remove wiper and disconnect washer fluid line from vehicle.
59 Remove wiper motor exterior nut using a 28mm socket and remove wiper motor from inside liftgate.
60 Affix the appliqué drilling Template to the center square depression on the vehicle’s appliqué using masking tape, and use a transfer punch to
transfer the center of the holes to the appliqué.
61 Drill three 1/8” pilot holes in the appliqué where the transfer marks were made.
62 Use a 3/4” center hole saw or sheet metal cutter to cut the hole in the center of the Template.
63-64 Use a 5/16” drill bit to drill the remaining two holes on the Template. Use a deburring tool to clean the holes.
65 Affix the liftgate drilling Template to the inside of the liftgate using masking tape and use a transfer punch to transfer the center of the hole
to the sheet metal and then remove the Template.
66 Drill a 1/8” pilot hole through the sheet metal where the transfer mark was made.
67-68 Use a 3/4” center hole saw or sheet metal cutter to cut an opening in the liftgate and apply supplied ZTech.
69 Route the supplied Camera Harness through the 1-3/16” hole in the appliqué then through the 1/2in hole in the sheet metal.
70-71 Insert supplied well nuts into two 5/16” holes in the appliqué and bolt camera mount to appliqué using two supplied bolts.
Install Chassis Harness (Steps 72 thru 95 in supplied complete kit instructions)
72-77 Remove liftgate sill plate, headliner garnish, and driver’s side D-pillar panel. Disconnect speaker wire in driver’s side D-pillar. Remove the
pushpin in the left side edge of the headliner.
78 Route the Chassis Harness under the leading edge of the headliner and towards the driver’s side D-pillar.
79-80 Remove both ends of the electrical bridge between the liftgate and rear of the vehicle. Route front connector (identifiable by the presence of
a green lock tab) of supplied Chassis Harness through the bridge, and down the D-Pillar behind the trim. Remove driver’s side third row seat.
82-83 Starting from the middle of the driver’s side rear quarter trim panel, use a plastic trim tool to tuck the supplied Chassis Harness under the trim
panel. Remove the rear driver’s side sill plate.
84-87 Using a plastic trim tool, route supplied Chassis Harness behind lower C-pillar trim, along rear sill plate, under B-pillar lower trim, and along
driver’s side front sill plate.
88 Connect the Chassis Harness to the Mirror Harness.
89-90 Reinstall wiper motor to liftgate using existing nuts, a 10mm open-end wrench, and flat blade screwdriver, and then reconnect wiper motor
wiring harness. Reinstall wiper motor exterior nut using a 28mm socket.
91 Reinstall rear wiper with existing nut using a 10mm socket and connect washer fluid line.
92 Secure supplied Camera Harness to washer fluid line or existing liftgate wires using supplied Wire Ties.
93 Connect supplied Camera Harness to the supplied Chassis Harness.
94 Reconnect the negative battery terminal, and tighten the negative cable nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
95 Test system functionality.
Secure Harnesses & Reinstall Vehicle Trim (Steps 96 thru 122 in supplied complete kit instructions)
96 Lift the Mirror Harness and Chassis Harness connection out of view, and secure harnesses to the existing wires using two supplied Wire Ties.
97-104 Reinstall knee bolster, parking brake lever, end of dash cover, M-BEC electrical cover, front kick panel, front and rear driver’s side sill plates,
mirror bridge wiring cover, and overhead console.
105 Secure supplied Mirror Harness to existing A-pillar wiring using two supplied Wire Ties.
106-7 Reinstall driver’s side A-pillar cover and A=pillar bolt cover
108 Reconnect driver’s side sun visor wiring harness.
109-110 Reinstall sun visor, sun visor mounting plate cover, driver’s side sun visor anchor bolt, and the sun visor anchor bolt cover.
111
Coil excess supplied Chassis Harness and secure to existing vehicle wiring using remaining supplied Wire Ties.
112-122 Reinstall all remaining interior parts.
