Emulation Modes

This printer has the following emulations modes:

 HP LaserJet Mode

This printer uses the HP LaserJet mode (or HP mode) that emulates the Hewlett-
Packard LaserJet laser printer. Since many application software packages
support the HP LaserJet printer, your printer will operate at its optimum
performance in this mode.

■ BR-Script 2 Mode

BR-Script is a Brother original page description language and is a PostScript

®

language emulation interpreter. This printer supports level 2. This BR-Script
interpreter enables full and satisfactory control of text and graphics on the pages.

Average users will not need extensive knowledge of the PostScript

■ EPSON FX-850 and IBM Proprinter XL Mode

The EPSON FX-850 and IBM Proprinter XL modes are the emulation modes
this printer uses to emulate the industry-standard dot matrix printers of their
respective manufacturer. Since most applications support these printers, you do
not have to be concerned about compatibility.
