Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the 3G‐TPG, the worlds first low‐cost 3G/HD/SD‐SDI Test Pattern
Generator.
We designed this generator due to:
1. The limited 3G‐SDI test equipment available
2. The high cost and limited functionality of the equipment that was available
This generator has undergone almost two years of extensive testing, by various Professional
Engineers in the broadcast and post‐production industry, who we would like to thank.
This product was designed by Engineers for Engineers. We ourselves use this generator to
test all of our products during development and manufacturing.
Please note that this product was designed and manufactured in Australia by REDBYTE
DESIGN PTY LTD. In the past this product has been re‐branded under various names. If you
have purchased one of these units, please contact your nearest Dealer to find out if it is
possible to upgrade the latest version.

3G‐SDI, HD‐SDI or SD‐SDI output (26 Formats in total)
54 Test Patterns including Luma and Chroma Zoneplates.
Embedded audio test generator featuring:
i) All 8 stereo pairs (16 channels or 4 groups)
ii) Adjustable frequency from 1 to 20,000Hz in steps of either 1, 10, 100 and 1kHz steps
iii) Amplitude adjustment from 0 to ‐100dBFS
iv) Broken or unbroken tone on either channel
v) 24‐bit audio for HD and 20‐bit audio for SD
Up to 20 characters of on‐screen text
EDH (Error Detection and Handling for SD)
High quality stainless steel case
Superior quality 3G rated US made Bomar connectors
Low Power operation from either +5V DC mains or 3 x AA batteries (May operate up to 8
hours from rechargeable 2500mAh NiMH)
Automatic power‐down mode when running from batteries
