Short-Term Parking

1.

Choose a location with level firm ground. Do not
unhitch on a steep slope.

2.

Fold drill (page 24).

3.

Set hydraulic circuits to neutral.

4.

Disconnect hydraulic lines. Secure them so that they
do not touch the ground.

5.

Disconnect electrical cables, capping where
provisioned.

6.

Move jack from storage position to side of tongue.

7.

Slightly raise tongue with jack.

8.

Unhitch.Restart tractor and pull away from drill.

Long-Term Storage

1.

Clean the drill as necessary. Be sure that the seed
boxes, fertilizer box and all feed systems are
completely cleaned out before storing.

2.

Lube chain and adjust all roller chains.

3.

Lubricate all fittings as indicated in “Maintenance
and Lubrication
” on page 55.

4.

When storing in transport position, use all locking
devices as described under Transporting the Drill
on page 27 and “
Operating Instructions” on
page 23.

5.

Apply a light coat of grease to all exposed hydraulic
cylinder rods.

6.

Seed cup drive sprocket hub should be oiled in its
square bore. Squirt oil on to the square seed cup
shaft and move seed cup adjustment lever back and
forth in order to get the oil back into the square. This
is most important before putting the drill in storage.

7.

Always maintain proper pounds of air pressure in
gauge wheel tires and in transport tires see “Tire
Inflation Chart
” on page 68.

8.

Store the drill inside if possible. Inside storage will
reduce maintenance and make for a longer drill life.
