TO CHANGE WIRE SETTINGS
1.
WARNING! Make sure to turn off the Welder and unplug it from its electrical
outlet prior to changing wire settings.
2.
Use the Handle (5A) and lift the Door (6A) of the Welder to expose the Wire Feed
Assembly. (See Figure J.)
3.
Loosen, and lower the Handle (6.1C) on the Wire Feed Assembly. Then, raise the
Lever (4C). (See Figure J.)
4.
Remove the Screw that secures the Roller (5C) in place. Then, remove the two
Rollers. (See Figure J.)
5.
Flip each Roller 180 degrees so that the width of the
top groove
formed by the two
Rollers correspond with the diameter of Welding Wire used.
NOTE: The two Rollers are “keyed”, meaning they can only be reinstalled one way.
(See Figure J.)
6.
Reinstall the two Rollers, and secure the Rollers in place with the Screw.
(See Figure J.)
7.
Lower the Lever (4C) on the Wire Feed Assembly. Lower and tighten the Handle
(6.1C).
8.
Remove the Gun Nozzle (1E) and Contact Tip (2E). Install a Contact Tip that is one
size larger* than the diameter of Welding Wire used. Then, replace the Gun Nozzle.
(See Figure I.)
*This accommodates thermal expansion of the wire.
9.
Install the Spool (4B) of Welding Wire, and route the Wire to the Torch Gun. Then,
test and, if necessary, adjust the Wire Feed Assembly as discussed in the previous
pages of this manual.
