Removing the Celeron Processor from the System Board - 440BX

To install a new processor, reverse this procedure.

Before installing a Pentium II processor, make sure the release latches are in the locked
position. This will cause the processor to make an audible sound when it is properly
seated in the retaining clip.

6. For the Celeron processor on the Revised Configuration, remove the heatsink retaining

clip

1 by pressing down on the clip’s extended tab until it releases from the safety

catch.

7. Lift the heatsink

2 off the processor.

8. Release the original processor from the socket by pulling the handle on the ZIF

socket

3 out and upward.

9. Lift the processor

4 out of the socket.
