Select TUNER mode to listen to AM or FM radio broadcasts. Press FUNCTION to select
TUNER mode.
AM/FM Antenna
Your stereo comes equipped with an internal AM antenna. Large appliances or other devices
that create an electrical field may interfere with AM reception; for best reception, please try
to locate the stereo away from such devices.
Your stereo comes equipped with an external FM wire antenna. Adjust the position and loca-
tion of the FM antenna for best reception.
FM Stereo / Mono Reception
When the tuner is locked in to a stereo broadcast, the LCD will display “STEREO”. If you are hav-
ing difficulty locking in to the broadcast, switch to MONO reception by pressing FM ST./MONO
on the remote.
Selecting the Band (AM or FM)
Press BAND/FOLDER to toggle between the AM or FM band.
Tuning to a Station Frequency
To adjust the tuning frequency up, press . To auto-scan to the next highest available sta-
tion frequency, press and hold .
To adjust the tuning frequency down, press . To auto-scan to the next lowest available
station frequency, press and hold .
To tune to a preset station, press PRESET UP or PRESET DOWN (see the Presetting Sta-
tion Frequencies section for more information on preset stations).
Presetting Station Frequencies
Your stereo can store up to 20 FM preset stations and up to 10 AM preset stations. While the
stereo is in TUNER MODE:
Tune to the station frequency you would like to save as a preset (e.g., “89.2”).
Press PROG on the remote control. The LCD will display “MEMORY” and the Preset Sta-
tion Number will start flashing.
Press PRESET UP or PRESET DOWN to select the Preset Station Number to save (e.g.,
Preset Station Number “01”).
Press PROG again to save the preset (e.g., Preset “01” is now set to station frequency “89.2’).
