Locate the cause of the problem using the Ghost Configuration Chart.

Launch the Tool Box, and click Chart Print on the Diagnosis tab.

Click Ghost Configuration Chart.
The Ghost Configuration Chart is printed.

Is the type of the problem identified?

type of ghosting.
Positive ghost - 2a
Negative ghost - 2b

Replace the drum cartridges.

Replace the drum cartridges. See "Replacing the Drum Cartridges."

After you replace the drum cartridges, click Chart Print on the

Diagnosis tab.

Click Ghost Configuration Chart.
The Ghost Configuration Chart is printed.

Adjust the transfer bias.

On the operator panel, press the

(Information) button and

select the Tools tab → select

Admin Settings

Maintenance→ Adjust Transfer Belt Unit.

Launch the Tool Box, and click Chart Print on the Diagnosis tab.
